The Coat of Arms
Blue wiht a silver chevron accompanies in chief by two silver lilies and in point by a gold heart.
The Symbology
The blue field evokes the blue skies where the Merciers live.
The two silver lilies signify the emblem and motto "I remember", of Québec. The primary source of Merciers in North America and their French and Catholic origins.
The gold heart joins with the two silver lilies to describe the expression "the most beautiful sentiment of the heart."
The motto
The motto "PROUD OF OUR ANCESTORS" honors all Merciers, among them, the six founding families who took root in New France before 1770:
- Jullien Mercier and Marie Poulain,
- Pierre Mercier and Andrée Martin,
- Pierre Mercier and Marguerite Lemain,
- Pierre-Simon Mercier and Marie-Renée Pineau,
- Charles Mercier and Marie-Anne Lahaise,
- Jean Mercier and Héloïse Leduc.

 On retrouve la documentation officielle des armoiries des Mercier illustrées ci-dessus dans le Burke's General Armory. La description originale des armes (blasson) se lit comme suit:
«Or. a fesse chequy az. and ar. betw. two boars' heads in chief sa. and a cressent in base gu. bordure engr. of the last.»
La traduction du blasson décrit également les couleurs originales des armoiries des Merciers comme étant:
«Sur fond or: une bande horizontale sur échiquier de couleur bleue et argent comprise entre deux têtes noires de sanglier dans letiers supérieur et un croissant rouge `ala base; une bordure crénelée rouge.»
Au dessus du bouclier et du casque se trouve un cimier qui est décrit de cette façon:
«Une moitier de chasseur de couleur naturelle, la veste bleue, soufflant dans un cor de couleur naturelle: au-dessus de sa tête se trouve la devise: "Blow Shrill".»
