To finance its activities and realize its goals and objectives, AMAN employs certain methods of funding.

Members premium

Under the “become a member” category, the different grades of membership, the cost of each membership grade and the condition to be a member. It is, and by far, our biggest source of funding.

The newsletter publishes advertisements where sponsors display their business cards at a cost of $50 per year.

Development funding

The AMAN has created a development fund to collect the money needed for the realization of promotion projects and organizational development.

The current income of AMAN is enough for daily operations. It does not, however, allow the implementation of initiatives to perpetuate its presence for future generations and to continue the promotion of the noble name of Mercier in America and Europe over the long term.

Certain projects have already been identified : a retrospective of 20 years, a genealogical dictionary, a consolidated index of Le Mercien, an Internet site, a video presentation of the arrival of Merciers in North America and a monument at La Grandinière, Tourouvre, France. As they are identified, others projects will follow and add to our needs throughout the years.

AMAN wants to first educate its members to its needs, but will also reach out to sponsors, supporters and other interested individuals and organizations to join its projects.

Initially, we appeal to our members and friends and invite them to send us their donations. The funds will be put aside in a special and separate account which will serve to fund projects already identified and those that can be added.

We count on your generosity to help our organization to stand out and promote its presence significantly.

Estate Planning

Your children may be grown and be very well established and are not waiting their inheritance. Therefore, why not consider helping AMAN of your charities of choice.

It is not necessary to be a millionaire to do so. A simple bequest of a small portion of what you leave to your heirs can greatly help a charity or organization like AMAN whose financial situation is fragile and whose future can be assured by your donations. This will allow us to be there for future generations in order to continue to value the noble name of Mercier. Your other heirs will certainly not suffer.

No gift or bequest is too small. Any contribution is very important for the long-term survival of our association. These amounts will be deposited into the Development Fund and used for future projects designed to perpetuate the name of Mercier in North America.

Some people might also consideer donating a life insurance policy. Consult your tax advisor or estate manager or contact AMAN and we will refer you to appropriate advisors. You will have a feeling of accomplishment to the Mercier family.

Lotomatique

AMAN is a non-profit organization that can be, and is, accredited by Loto-Quebec to offer its members subscriptions to Lotomatique. This accreditation allows the AMAN to withdraw income from its members' subscriptions to Lotomatique.  Although this is a solicitation by AMAN of its memberswho may have no interest in the lottery, no one has to feel compelled to join Lotomatique. The directors of AMAN decided to include a membership form in certain mailing and it is possible that you may receive one of Publi-sac without having requested it. The major advantage for the organization is a commission of about 14% on all subscriptions, which represented 13% of our revenues for the year.  This is a significant sum for our association.  It goes without saying that we respect the opinion of those who disavow the encouragement of gambling and we hope it is seen as an action that is advantageous to our association.

The Lotomatique subscription has some advantages for people who regularly buy 6 / 49 tickets, the Québec49 the Lotto MAX as well as the Extra. As the name implies, the lucky number verification and payment to winners is made automatically. To participate in Lotomatique, a group splits between the group members. The form is easily completed by following the various steps.  A pre-addressed envelope is included and no stamp is required. Anyone wishing to subscribe to Lotomatique but does not have the form for the benefit of AMAN's commission may contact us to obtain one. Donations

AMAN accepts from its members and friends donations that are not assigned to a particular cause. These amounts are deposited in the Consolidated Fund.
